Aaron grew up in a small town in Ohio and as a child always had a love for playing in the outdoors. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps and soon found himself in Iraq on multiple deployments. Currently serving in the Arizona Army National Guard, Aaron found himself on more deployments to Afghanistan and East Africa. Having been on multiple deployments, he has constantly found himself surrounded by friends that suffer from PTSD. Having lost a few friends to suicide and reading about the number of Veterans that commit suicide on a daily basis, he wanted to find a way to reach out and help those in need. The Cairn Experience is his way to give back to those in need and hopefully provide an outlet for them to have fun and receive help and guidance to help them live fuller, purposeful lives.

Jolene grew up in Las Vegas, and knew from a very young age that she needed to set out on a different adventure. She joined the Army at age 17 with hopes to become a part of something bigger than her. She took many opportunities and even recognized them during her time spent on deployment, as tools for growth. She knew she had to continue serving others and moved to Arizona to do just that. Jolene received a masters degree in Social Work at Arizona State University. She is now a licensed professional dedicated to helping Veterans who face many adversities. She fell in love with the gorgeous mountains of Arizona and believes that getting outside and exploring has powerful healing benefits. She hopes to continue serving Veterans and showing them how connection to other Vets and the outdoors can be beneficial for the mind, body, and soul. It is important to her that the adventures taken with The Cairn Experience embody her beliefs and benefit all who join on this journey.
